SKI OR RIDE SILVER STAR SLOPES
Champagne powder and varied terrain attract every kind of skier to BC’s third largest ski area, with over 3,282 skiable acres.. With four distinct mountain faces and 132 runs, the progressive terrain is perfect for learning. For the more adventurous, the backside of the mountain is an uncrowded paradise of over 1,900 acres of steep and deep, black and double black diamond runs.

SLNC is dedicated to the promotion of cross-country skiing as an inclusive lifelong activity for all ages and abilities. Committed to the provision of high-quality facilities, programs, and services, the SLNC operates a world-class cross-country ski venue located within Silver Star Provincial Park.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Vernon is emerging as a new mountain biking destination. Located in the North Okanagan, Vernon shares the enviable lifestyle of other Okanagan communities – beaches and peaches - but has the added benefit of having great hillsides and mountains right next to the city. The beauty of some of these trails is that you can jump in the lake after a great ride!
LAKES AND BEACHES
Kal Beach on the North end of Kalamalka Lake and Kin Beach at the North end of Okanagan Lake. Both support boat, kayak and paddle board rentals as well as public beaches for all. Of course there are countless other rivers and lakes in the valley for you to explore and enjoy.
A KANGAROO FARM
Kangaroo Creek farm has been keeping kangaroos and wallabies for more than 20 years, the farm is located in Winfield B.C.. Daytime tours of the farm are available 7 days a week. Residents of the farm include Red Kangaroos (the largest type of kangaroo), Common Wallaroos and Bennett Wallabies (which are mid sized), and Dama Wallabies (one of the smallest wallaby species).
